Sierra Leone
Infrastructure
Sierra Leone currently has a large deficit in infrastructure with specific gaps in power, port and rail infrastructure. Due to the foregoing, the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) requires innovative financing solutions to meet its growing infrastructural deficit. The solution would take an integrated approach, coupling bankable projects with technical, engineering and financial capacity through partnerships. A positive by-product of the solution would be the avoidance of use of GoSL’s balance sheet. We are currently working with GoSL and funding partners to implement these infrastructural initiatives.
Energy
HFV along with Worley Parsons and Techsult Consulting Engineers were the Government of Sierra Leone's technical advisors on the development of Phase II of the existing Bumbuna Hydroelectric Plant (BHP) to reduce costs. The objective was to derive a Value Engineering solution to significantly reduce the cost of the second phase to increase the power capacity of BHP by 500% from 50MW to 252MW.
Liberia
Energy
HFV worked in partnership with SoEnergy International (US) to develop a Renewable Energy project in Liberia with the Government of Liberia(GoL). Power was to be sold primarily under a long-term arrangement to Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), and industrial consumers. The PPA with the Government of Liberia was for 35MW of renewable energy. Also worked with GoL to incorporate solar as a renewable energy source option.
